Available services

Services available at all branches include:

  • Printing from the public PCs: colour, black & white, A4, A3 
  • Photocopying: colour, black & white, A4, A3
  • Scanning to your email or to USB

Web printing - print from anywhere

Upload your print jobs and release them at any of our libraries.

Charges

Effective 1 July 2022.

Black and White

  • A4: 20 cents per page
  • A3: 40 cents per page

Colour

  • A4: $1 per page
  • A3: $2 per page

Scanning

No charge

Printing account and credit top-up

If you are going to use the Print, copy, scan services, you can log on to the Stonnington Library and Information Service printing portal to see your printing information.

Please see staff at the desk or log in to your account at the printing portal, to top up your printing credit.

  • We cannot reimburse unused credit in cash
  • Credit on damaged, lost or stolen library cards cannot be transferred to a new card
  • Library users are responsible for ensuring they comply with copyright law.

All printing must comply with copying regulations, including copyright law and restrictions on some items. (Copyright information is posted near all copiers.)

How to print

At all Stonnington Library branches you can print from a library computer or directly from your own device. If your documents are on a USB you can use your own device or a Library PC to open, view and print the documents. Please see staff at the desk or log in to your account at the printing portal, to top up your printing credit.

Print from a Library computer

  1. Click on Print or go to File then Print.
  2. Another window will open, which will let you change the default printing settings or change from our default black and white settings to colour. Click Print when ready.
  3. For the first printing of your session a login will pop-up. Log in with your library barcode and password.
  4. A window will open that tells you how much the printing will cost. Click Print when ready to send your printing to the queue.
  5. Go to the printer and scan your card to log on.
  6. Select Print release and then select the printing you want to print. Press Print to print them out.

Your print documents will stay in your private print queue for up to 24 hours. They will then be deleted if not printed or cancelled.

Web print - Print from your device

You can upload PDF, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and text documents. Images can also be submitted for printing. The full list of types is shown at the Upload step.

  1. Have your print document ready to upload
  2. Log on to the Stonnington Library and Information Service printing portal
  3. Select Web Print from the menu
  4. Click on Submit a Job
  5. Select the Colour or Black and White printer
  6. Click on Print Options and Account Selection
  7. Change the number of copies if required and click on Upload Documents
  8. Click on Upload from computer and select your files for printing. Once they are listed click on Upload & Complete
  9. You will see your documents listed, they will process, and their status will change to Held in a queue.
  10. Go to a printer at any of our library branches and scan your card to log on
  11. Select Print release and then select your printing jobs. You can change to double-sided or from colour to black & white if required. Press Print to print your jobs

Your print documents will stay in your private print queue for up to 24 hours. They will then be deleted if not printed or cancelled.

How to Copy

You can copy after logging on at the printer. See staff at the desk or log in to your account at the printing portal, to top up your printing credit.

A3, A4 colour and black and white copying is available.

  1. Select Copy/USB Scan 
  2. You will see an Account Confirmation screen showing your name and Balance. Select Copy/USB Scan
  3. Select Copy
  4. Place your originals on the glass or the top feeder tray, change any options and press Start.

How to Scan

You can scan to your email or scan to USB after logging on at the printer.

How to Scan to email

  1. Select Scan to email.
  2. You will see the Scan to my email screen with your email, default email subject and default name for your scan on the left and the default scan settings on the right.
  3. Press Change Settings if you want to change any of the settings
  4. Press Start to scan.

How to Scan to USB

  1. Select Copy/USB Scan.
  2. You will see an Account Confirmation screen showing your name and Balance and. Select Copy/USB Scan
  3.  Select USB 
  4.  Follow the prompts and select a folder to scan into or just select OK 
  5.  You will see the Scan to USB screen with the default name for your scan on the left and the default scan settings on the right.
  6. Press Change Settings if you want to change any of the settings and press Save to scan
  7. Press Scan next original to add more pages or Scan Complete when you have scanned your last page
  8. Select Finish and your scan will be saved.
